Wedding Web Site

Roy and Linda Beckham wanted to share the
memory of their wedding with everyone in the
world, literally. Rick Spence explains.

Like new couples everywhere, newlyweds Roy and Linda
Beckham enjoy sharing their wedding album with friends
and family. However, they don't need to hold you hostage
in their home looking at photos.
Instead, they've taken their wedding album online. "It
just got out of hand," says Roy. "I started off with one
link. It was just going to be pictures, then, pretty
soon, I've got links to all the people who helped out
with the wedding and the menu."

"We put disposable cameras on the tables,
picked the best ones for the pages, scanned
them into the Mac, and edited with Photoshop," says Roy.
"Pretty easy."

Linda's glad Roy waited until after the honeymoon to
work on the Web site, "Everyday after work he'd be on
the computer."

"I spent about 40 hours," says Roy. "Not sure how many
pages, five major sections, and subsections."

Roy and Linda say more than just friends and

family come to visit. They've had well over a
thousand people log into their virtual wedding album.
And Roy may have to start a little side business with
these wedding Web sites, "A couple of people have asked
if I could help them out."

If you would like to try this on your own, Roy offers
this bit of advice: "Plan ahead. Map out the links. Keep
it under control."

That's good advice for new couples. We would hate to see
an outbreak of divorce pages popping up on the net.
